Massage therapy is renowned for its ability to alleviate stress by promoting relaxation and reducing tension in muscles. The soothing touch of a skilled massage therapist triggers the release of endorphins, fostering a sense of well-being and tranquility.
Massage therapy targets specific areas of discomfort, providing relief from chronic pain conditions, muscular tension, and joint stiffness. The manipulation of soft tissues enhances blood circulation, promoting healing and reducing inflammation, resulting in improved flexibility and overall muscle relaxation.
Regular massage sessions have been linked to enhanced sleep quality. The calming effects of massage contribute to a deeper state of relaxation, helping individuals experience more restful sleep. The release of tension and stress during a massage can positively impact sleep patterns and promote a sense of overall well-being.
Beyond the physical benefits, massage therapy positively influences mental and emotional health. It can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, enhance mood, and promote a general sense of mental clarity and focus. The therapeutic touch of massage fosters a mind-body connection, contributing to a holistic sense of well-being.

My name is Aliesha Swaby, RMT. I have been a massage therapist for about since 2015. I am a member in good standing of the CMTO. My interest in massage therapy started from being a track and field athlete with multiple repetitive strain injuries from ankle sprains to hamstring and groin strains. My father couldn't afford the luxury of therapy so I had to push through the pain. That coupled with hard work and dedication I achieved a scholarship to the University of Mary in Bismarck ND where I studied physical and athletic therapy. Unfortunately due to a second degree hip flexor injury I lost my scholarship as hurdles were my primary event. Back in Toronto I went to York University where I double majored in Kinesiology and Psychology. After my third year I took a well needed mental health break. I used that time to find myself and heal. After the year off I attended Trillium College and started the massage therapy program. While at Trillium I volunteered at clinics such as People With Aids and the Asian Community Aids Society as well as Enbridge's Ride To Conquer Cancer and Shopper's Weekend to End Women's Cancer. I also volunteered with the Flying Angels Track and Field Academy. Having been an athlete with many stresses and injuries I understand the need for a great massage. I like to add a relaxing component to my style of treatment as a relaxed muscle is far easier to treat than a tense one. I have worked in multiple clinics and the time has come for me to do it on my own and start my own practice from scratch. I am looking forward to my journey in Holistic health care.
